Create . Inspire . Live Well
TRUTH. GRACE. WISDOM.FOR EVERY SEASON
There is a subtle misunderstanding that has quietly shaped the way many people approach their lives.
It sounds spiritual, humble and It even sounds like faith but at its core, it can be limiting. The belief is this: “Because I am a child of God, every decision must be initiated directly by God… and until then, I wait.”
While it may appear reverent, it often leads to something else entirely: Passivity.
We were never created as robots. From the very beginning, humanity was not designed to function as robots. We were given something powerful, free will. The ability to choose, to think and to act.
There are moments in scripture that feel almost surprising not because they are complex, but because they reveal something so deeply human.
One such moment is found when the Moabites looked across at the Israelites and saw what appeared to be blood covering the land. Convinced that their enemies had turned on each
There’s a scripture in Proverbs 20:14 that says:
KJV Version: “It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.”
Another translation: “It’s no good, it’s no good,” says the buyer—then goes away and boasts.
Have you ever stopped…and truly pondered what this means? At first glance, it sounds like simple bargaining, a buyer trying to lower the price of a product but if you look again, you’ll notice something deeper. This buyer is not unaware. This buyer already knows the value.
Yet, they deliberately speak against it, “It is nothing… it is nothing…”Why? because if they can convince the seller it has no worth, they gain the advantage and once they secure it, their true perception is revealed. They boast.
Here’s a A Deeper Observation:
This doesn’t only happen with merchandise. This happens with people. There are individuals who will downplay your intelligence, dismiss your creativity and ideas, minimize your gift and influence, overlook your consistency and discipline and speak lightly of your calling or purpose
not because they don’t see it but sometimes because they do and acknowledging it openly would cost them something so instead, they: publicly simplify you, condescend your contribution
reduce your presence, while privately recognizing the value you carry. Some may do this out of:
Intimidation, fear, insecurity, or a desire to benefit from what you carry without you fully realizing it yourself
The Danger:
If you are not rooted in who you are, you may begin to agree with a false narrative.
You may shrink your voice, lower your standard or even release something of great value
because you trusted the wrong perception. You must know who you are, not by the voice of people but by the One who created you. People change like the seasons. Today they may downplay you, tomorrow they may celebrate you but if your identity is tied to them,
you will always be shifting. So instead: Seek validation from God, not man
Stay grounded in what He has placed inside of you. Do not negotiate your worth based on external voices because what God has given you is not for you to discount.
A Simple Prayer
“Lord, open my eyes to see myself the way You see me.
Give me discernment to recognize truth from deception.
Show me who I am in You, so I do not come into agreement with anything that diminishes what You have placed inside of me.
Guide me, establish me, and keep me grounded in Your truth. Amen.”
There is a scripture that has always made me pause:
In Luke 12:3 it says:
“What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the rooftops.”
At first glance, it sounds like a warning but when you sit with it… it becomes a revelation. The question is why did God use the word “closet”?
The Closet Is Not Just a Place, it’s a Condition
The closet represents the hidden part of our lives, not the public version, the polished version and not the version we present to people but the place where: conversations happen in private thoughts are unfiltered, intentions are formed, and character is revealed.
The closet is who you are when no one is watching. Nothing spoken there stays there. The scripture reveals a principle: “What is whispered in secret…does not stay in secret.” Words spoken in private have a way of: surfacing, echoing manifesting. Sometimes through exposure, through consequences and through the fruit they produce.
There’s Another Side to the Closet, now here is where it gets deeper.
In Matthew 6:6, Jesus says: “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen…” So now we see something powerful. The same “closet” that can hide things is also the place where God meets you.
Two Realities of the Closet. The closet can hold two very different things:
Hidden conversations that should not be hidden
Or sacred conversations with God
It can be a place of: secrecy or intimacy, a place of: darkness or divine encounter.
What You Build in Secret will speak for you. This is the mystery. The closet is not silent. It is productive. It produces: habits, words, thoughts, spirit and eventually, all of it finds its way into the open so what you build in private will introduce you in public.
The Real Question
The question is not whether you have a closet. We all do. The real question is: What is being formed there? Is it truth? Is it bitterness? Is it prayer? Is it compromise? because whatever is growing in that hidden place will one day have a voice.
Final Thought
The closet is not just where things are hidden. It is where things are decided and in time what is decided in secret will be revealed in the open.
Closing Prayer
In the name of Jesus, Father, we thank You for being a God who sees beyond what is visible. You see the hidden places, the quiet moments, and the things we carry in secret. Lord, search our hearts. Where there is anything in our “closet” that does not align with You whether it be words, thoughts, intentions, or actions—bring it into Your light and gently correct us. Give us the humility to confront what needs to be changed, and the strength to surrender it fully to You. Teach us how to honor You in private, not just in public.
Let our hidden life be rooted in truth, integrity, and reverence for You.
Father, draw us into the secret place not as a place of hiding, but as a place of intimacy. Let our closets become spaces of prayer, where we meet You, hear You, and are transformed by You.
May what is formed in our private moments reflect Your Spirit, so that when it is revealed, it brings glory to Your name and not shame to our lives.
Purify our hearts, guard our words, align our desires with Your will and let everything built in secret be pleasing in Your sight.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
There’s a scripture in Proverbs 27:10 “Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend forsake not, neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother that is far off”
That, at first glance, sounds a little strange. It says not to abandon your friend or even your father’s friend and honestly, you might pause and think… my father’s friend?
However, when you sit with it, something deeper begins to unfold.
This isn’t just about friendship, it’s about proven loyalty. Some relationships didn’t start with you, but they’ve already been tested by time. They’ve stood through seasons, through challenges, through life and wisdom says: don’t be quick to discard what has already proven itself.
Then it goes further. It says when trouble comes, don’t assume your brother will be the one to help. Instead, it’s better to go to a neighbor who is near, than a brother who is far away.
Now that right there shifts everything.
We often think in titles, family will be there, blood will show up but life teaches us something different. It’s not always about who is supposed to be there… it’s about who actually is there.
Sometimes the one who shows up, who checks in, who stands with you in real time is not the one with the title, but the one with the heart and the presence.
This is wisdom for real life:
Value the people who are present.
Honor the relationships that have proven themselves.
And don’t overlook those who are near, consistent, and faithful just because they don’t carry a certain title.
In the end, loyalty is not about position… it’s about presence and when life happens and it will, you’ll quickly learn:
Who shows up matters more than who was expected to.
From the scripture Genesis 4:9 Cain: Am I my brother’s keeper?
Our response: “The audacity ! The Disrespect ! Let’s see what this looks like today modern world. Cain says, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” he’s not just being rude, he’s doing three things at once:
Self-protection: He already knows what he’s done. This isn’t ignorance it’s resistance.
Here’s the key insight:
Cain isn’t shocked God knows. He’s irritated that God is
asking. That’s not ignorance, that’s a hardened conscience speaking back to holiness.
Why we judge Cain so harshly but miss ourselves.
We read it today and think,“Who talks to God like that?” but here’s the uncomfortable truth:
The Cain spirit didn’t disappear. It just got more sophisticated.
Today it doesn’t sound like: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” It sounds like “That’s not my responsibility.” “Everyone has their own problems.” “I didn’t cause it.”
“Why should I care?” “That’s between them and God.” or the famous “drink water and mind my business.” Same heart just different vocabulary.
What is the ‘Cain spirit’ today?
At its core, the Cain spirit is refusing responsibility for the life, dignity, or wellbeing of others especially. When love would cost you something. You can recognize it when:Compassion is replaced by convenience “Not my problem” becomes a lifestyle.Comparison replaces communion. Cain was angry because Abel’s offering was accepted. Today it looks like jealousy, resentment, quiet, bitterness toward someone else’s favor or growth.
The deeper irony is this: Cain didn’t understand why God was asking the question at all.
When Cain said, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” God’s response without saying it outright—was yes. That is exactly what love is. Before law, before commandments, before nations, human beings were already created to guard one another’s lives. That is why Abel’s blood cried out.
Life itself demands accountability.
Prayer to Guard the Heart
Let’s pray slowly, honestly:
Father God,
I invite You to search my heart before sin finds a place to
rest.
Where resentment is forming, uproot it.
Where comparison is distorting my vision, realign me.
Where I have withdrawn responsibility for my brother or
sister, soften me again.
Teach me to respond to correction with humility,
not defensiveness.
Guard my heart from indifference, from jealousy,
from silent hardness that feels justified.
Give me a heart that reflects Yours, quick to listen, slow to anger,
rich in mercy.
Let me be my brother’s keeper in love, not by force, not by pride,
but by compassion led by Your Spirit.
I choose life.
I choose humility
In Yeshua’s name. Amen
