HOUSE OF TOV

Create . Inspire . Live Well

This wasn’t an accident, it was intentional. Relationship with God was never meant to remove responsibility. It was meant to guide it. The wisdom already given scripture makes something very clear:“…to the one who has, more will be given…”  Matthew 13:12 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God… and it will be given…” — James 1:5

This reveals a powerful balance. God gives wisdom but He also expects us to use it and when we steward what we’ve been given well more is added. The Problem: Selective Responsibility. If we are honest, many of us operate selectively. We want free will when it benefits us but when it requires effort, decision-making, or risk, we retreat and say: “I’m waiting on God.” but what if God is waiting on you? Waiting for you to: Think. Plan. Act

Apply what you already know because not every step requires a new instruction. Some steps require activation of what has already been given.

God Is Not For Folly

Scripture consistently shows that God does not celebrate foolishness.

Folly, careless, unwise, thoughtless behavior is warned against.“…the way of a fool is right in his own eyes…” — Proverbs 12:15

And throughout Proverbs, wisdom is elevated, not ignored. This tells us something important: God honors wise execution. Not just prayer, but application not just belief but movement. Faith was never meant to replace action.

When God says to ask for wisdom and believe you have received it,

He is not calling you to sit still indefinitely.

He is calling you to receive… and then operate, to make decisions.

To step forward and think beyond routine/ patterns. Wisdom unused is no different than wisdom not received.

A Practical Example

Let’s make this real, say you have an idea and you’ve prayed about it.

You feel a sense of peace about it but instead of moving, you stay in a cycle of: waiting for another sign, waiting for confirmation after confirmation, repeating the same actions without growth. Meanwhile, nothing changes but what would wisdom do? Wisdom would: research, plan, test, Adjust, Execute, not recklessly, but intentionally.

Sometimes, the answer to your prayer is not another word It’s movement!

The Difference Between Dependence and Passivity

Dependence on God is powerful. Passivity disguised as dependence is limiting. Dependence says: “God, guide me as I move.”

Passivity says: “God, move for me while I stay still.”

One builds, the other delays.

God is not looking for perfection. He is looking for stewardship.

What did you do with what you were given? Did you think? Did you apply wisdom? Did you take initiative? or did you wait when you were meant to act?

Final Reflection

There comes a point where the question is no longer:

“God, what should I do?” but rather: “What have You already shown me that I have not yet acted on?” You are not empty. You have been given: understanding, discernment, the ability to reason, the capacity to learn and when you combine that with faith, you don’t become passive, you become powerful. Pray, ask , believe.…Then move.
