Create . Inspire . Live Well
While this article focuses on what I describe as the systemic divide between men and women, I believe there is an even deeper layer to this conversation.
From my faith perspective, what we see in our systems is not the beginning of the story. It is the visible expression of something that began much earlier.
I believe there is a systematic pattern of division, one that seeks to separate what was originally created to work together. In my understanding of Scripture, this pattern can be traced back to humanity’s earliest moments. The deception in the Garden of Eden was not simply about one act of disobedience; it marked the beginning of fractured relationships, misplaced blame, mistrust, and separation. From that point onward, division became a recurring theme in the human story.
This is not simply a discussion about men and women.
It is a discussion about how division itself works.
When people are divided, they struggle to see one another clearly. Suspicion replaces trust and competition replaces collaboration. Before long, we begin fighting one another instead of asking what may have caused the division in the first place.
This article intentionally examines the issue from a systemic perspective. However, I believe there is also a spiritual dimension that deserves thoughtful exploration.
I look forward to sharing that perspective in a future Tea Time Talk, where we will explore this subject more deeply through the lens of Scripture, faith, and spiritual reflection.
For now, my hope is simply to encourage us to look beyond the surface and ask not only what we are experiencing, but also why.
